New high-altitude plantation

15 April 2021

April 15, 2021: Planting of a new vineyard at St Julien, La Livinière, 410m above sea level. The Saint Julien project, managed by SAFER, is now a reality. We have 4 hectares of new land conquered on the Causse. There used to be vines, but since 1940, the garrigue has covered everything. An ideal terroir in view of climate change.
We're starting planting this year with 60 ares of Mourvèdre, hand-planted on Monday April 12. We're particularly excited about this new terroir, set in a magnificent landscape on the slopes of the Montagne Noire, facing the Pyrenees. And our first Mourvèdre. We watered the vines the next day to get them going. The planting project will continue next year.
